ACT Practice & Prep

Every resource on this page comes straight from ACT, and every one of them is free. No account, no fee, no trial. These match the current Enhanced ACT format (the shorter test, with the optional science section), so what you practice is what you'll sit for.

Start with a full practice test

Preparing for the ACT Test Guide, 2025-2026 (PDF). A complete practice test with an answer key, scoring instructions, and a walkthrough of what each section asks of you. This is the one to print if you only print one thing.

Practice on a screen

ACT Online Sample Questions gives you full-length online practice tests, taken the way the online test actually runs. QuizMe serves real ACT questions in short rounds, good for the ten minutes you have rather than the two hours you don't.

Watch a sample class

Four short classes from ACT, one for each section of the test: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Start with whichever section you like least.

Calculator rules and tips

Which calculators are allowed, and how-to videos for the ones that are. Check your calculator against this list before test day, not on test day.

Testing with accommodations

If you test with accommodations, practice with them too. ACT publishes practice materials in accommodated formats. If you have an IEP or 504 and haven't set up ACT accommodations yet, come see your counselor. Approval takes time, so start early.

Hear it from students

Short videos of students talking about what worked and what didn't: advice on taking the ACT, handling test anxiety, what they thought of test prep, and how to get ready for a test day.

Questions?

Stop by the Counseling Center. We can help you pick a test date, check whether you qualify for a fee waiver, and make a practice plan that fits your schedule. Registration, test dates, and fee waivers all live on the ACT Testing page.
